Install Methods

  • UTILITY-APPROVED TERRITORIESAn electrician installs a meter collar into a meter-main-combo panel on the outside of a home.

    Behind The Utility Meter

Depending on the territory, MSAs may be installed by either the solar installer or a utility technician.

  • NATIONWIDE (ISLANDDER™ ONLY)Two meter socket boxes on the side of a house next to each other, one with a ConnectDER meter socket adapter installed with a jumper cover, the other with a standard utility billing meter.

    Separate Standalone Socket

Where utilities have not approved meter collars, you can install IslandDER™ in a separate standalone, customer-owned socket often without utility involvement. You may still need to coordinate with the utility for other aspects of the install.
