ConnectDER acknowledges your company’s interest and intent to participate in the ConnectDER limited field pilot within the PG&E service territory as a Designated Installer of the IslandDER isolating meter socket adapter. For purposes of the PG&E limited field pilot with ConnectDER, each Designated Installer agrees to the following:
- To not remove or reinstall an electric meter or break a meter seal.
- Provide site addresses and related project information to ConnectDER in advance of installation to support timely coordination with PG&E.
- Ensure that the meter socket adapter (MSA) is provided to PG&E at the customer premises in a safe, secure, accessible, and damage-free condition, as determined by PG&E.
- Obtain the utility customer’s authorization using the form provided by PG&E.
- Obtain and complete all installation approvals from both the AHJ and PG&E. The Designated Installer must secure the necessary permits, complete all required inspections, submit the installation request through the PG&E portal, and provide evidence of approvals or inspection sign-offs when requested.
- Use the PG&E portal to schedule the MSA installation and pay any associated fees.
- Follow additional instructions provided by PG&E related to the installation request.
- Maintain responsibility for loss or damage to the device until installation is complete, in accordance with ConnectDER’s terms of sale.
- Acknowledge that PG&E is not responsible for maintenance of the MSA.
Additional Acknowledgements:
The Designated Installer recognizes that PG&E is not obligated to install or remove a meter socket adapter. However, PG&E may remove a meter or device at any time for safety reasons.
If requested by ConnectDER, the Designated Installer must provide device serial numbers and project information.
The Designated Installer also agrees to share with ConnectDER and PG&E any Pilot-related data regarding the installation, function, or use of the MSA, provided that such data has been approved for sharing by ConnectDER and PG&E. PG&E may use and publicly disclose this data for Pilot purposes, subject to any applicable limits on protected or privileged information.
These obligations apply for the duration of the limited field pilot (“Pilot”). ConnectDER expects the Pilot to conclude no later than August 31, 2026. After the Pilot concludes, installers must follow PG&E’s normal business practices and requirements, including adherence to Rule 21 and Rule 31.
