Installation Requirements

There are three main types of approved installation procedures, depending on your utility. If you’re installing a ConnectDER meter socket adapter for the first time, get in touch with us! We’ll guide you through your utility’s exact process.

Installer Allowed

Installer is allowed to remove the meter, install the meter socket adapter, and reinstall the meter without the utility being present.

Utility Installed

The utility company is the only approved party that can remove the meter and install the meter socket adapter. Installer can connect the meter socket adapter to the battery, but should leave it hanging in a safe manner, typically in a protective bag.

Joint Meet

Installer coordinates with the utility company for a utility representative to meet on-site and remove the meter, and then the installer installs the meter socket adapter.
