The Smart Module adds metering and communications features to our product that integrate with existing utility back-office infrastructure. Solar installers still get the benefit of fast interconnection, and utilities get access to solar production data without the need to install a second solar-specific meter.

Our Solar Meter Adapter + Smart Module is UL-Listed equipment that enables rapid interconnection of grid-ready DERs like solar PV. The device creates a safe, standardized, low-cost alternative to traditional wiring methods and avoids the need for installing a second meter. The adapter contains onboard metering, communications, and controls to unlock alternative tariff models and grid management capabilities.

The Solar Meter Adapter + Smart Module operates in parallel with a utility’s electric grid. It is approved for use with grid-interactive photovoltaic (PV) systems where the inverter(s) meets UL 1741 requirements.

It can be factory configured to terminate solar field wiring to either the load side or line side of the utility meter.
