Infinite Invention (I2) has secured to a second Incubator grant from the US Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative. The funding, a $500,000 cooperative grant running through Q1 2015, will be used to enhance I2’s core product The ConnectDER, a system for residential plug-and-play solar interconnection to the power grid.
I2 will use the funds to help scale manufacturing processes, run field trials with utility partners, and develop an internal metering and communications system for the next generation of the product.
We’re humbled by this vote of confidence in what we’re doing (ok, maybe a little proud too) and are immensely excited to get moving on the next stage of our development.
The DOE SunShot Initiative is a national collaborative effort to make solar energy cost-competitive with other forms of electricity by the end of the decade.
